Childhood and teenage concerns

DIKSHA, Kolkata: Creates safe spaces for children and adolescents through community-based resource teams of adolescents and youth in Kalighat and Munsiganj red light areas of Kolkata; mobilizes women in prostitution in these areas (many of them mothers to the young people DIKSHA works with) to prevent underage and second generation prostitution; runs a youth-lead 24x7 crisis intervention (especially for prevention of child sexual abuse) through linkages with lawyers and police; facilitates creative pursuits and referrals related to health and development needs of young people.
